Performance pieces for children’s voice and orchestra

Boom Town was commissioned by Aurora Orchestra and DaCapo for a schools’ project in 2009. Written by Christopher Willis in close consultation with DaCapo educators, the piece was devised to enable children to learn musical elements whilst working with high calibre musicians. Our favourite addition to the score is ‘tennis balls bounced here’ - an excellent way to teach children about pulse and very entertaining for the audience.
